Life is really good for me right now. I am learning to be okay with that. Now that I’m out of survival mode and actually thriving (for now, at least), I have the brain space to grapple with some big questions about “life, the universe, and everything.” (Fun fact: I was a philosophy minor in college. I am v excited to have the energy to think about philosophy and theology again.) Pulled out the #shadowscapestarot for a little read on where I’m at and where I’m headed next. I know the world is on fire but I’m grateful to be in a place personally that feels really good and affirming.

Made up a New Year’s Eve tarot spread this morning. Center card: where you’re at now. Left card: something to leave behind. Right card: something to carry into the new year. #fawm2020 starts in a couple weeks, and I haven’t written much lately. Decided to try to give myself some structure this year, and try to actually make progress on my #78songs project, where I’m attempting to write a song for every card in a #tarot deck. Gonna try to knock the major arcana out by the end of February. Since I have 21 songs to write (I wrote the song for The Fool a while ago), I’m starting now. This one won’t count toward FAWM, but at least I’m getting some momentum going!

New deck! The @greenglyphs #lenormand arrived in the mail today. It’s lovely. Check out those coppery gilt edges! I was feeling a little guilty about having spent money on the Kickstarter (things are a bit tight these days and it didn’t need my help to get funded), but now I’m glad I did.

“Connecting With Your Future Self” spread from @wortsandcunning using the @this_might_hurt #tarot deck. It’s been a rough couple of months of trying to get my feet under me and figure out where I want to go next. I think I’m getting closer to answers, even if I’m not there yet. One of the points of this spread is “Give yourself credit for…” and I pulled the Knight of Cups there, which I am choosing to interpret as my optimism. Trying to hang onto that.
